The AISD CICs are getting ready for the 2016-2017 school year! There is a lot of exciting stuff happening!
Our school is doing many great things with the use of technology! We are only in the beginning stages at his pint because it was never a priority on our campus until this school year. I am happy to say that most of our teachers are actively seeking ways to improve instruction with the use of technology.
I myself have managed to incorporate the use of technology into almost every aspect of our classroom! It has been an exciting journey and an amazing educational experience. This year I have spent a lot of time setting up the use of tech in my room. Although we have received several new devices, our district does net yet have a state of the art technology infrastructure. What we are able to use and what we are able to do is constantly changing. This has been very challenging for myself and my students. It is hard to get accurate information on whether or not a certain program or device is beneficial to the students when the school's internet or other unrelated problems cause our devices not to work.
I will say that the use of everything Google has been extremely beneficial to my students. They are becoming very fluent in all things Google. This has cut down the need for a lot of time consuming and wasteful practiced. I am amazed at how quickly the students took to it. Several of my students have already surpassed myself in the amount of things that they can do with these programs. Google has also turned a few of my never do homework students into my best homework completing students! My goal for next year is to help guide the teachers toward catching up with our students in the use of these programs.
We hope to try and incorporate many new uses over the summer and into next year!
