What's Happening This Week
STEAM Project 3!
We are starting our 3 project. This project will be a research project on habitats. We will be recreating habitats in an awesome way! Stay tuned for more information!
Parents, please look over your student's homework and help with their writing! We are working hard every day to improve our writing skills. We need help from mom and dad.
Make sure they are using complete sentences that make sense. Also, make sure they are indenting for each paragraph. They should be capitalizing the first word in every sentence and all proper nouns!

Texas Historical Landmarks
Just like all of the other types of fiction, Historical Fiction contain all the elements of the narrative plot diagram that we have been studying. Historical fiction stands out as it's own genre because the setting of the story takes place sometime in the past. This historical element of the setting will play an import role in telling the story!
Students should now understand all of the elements of fiction! (Characters, setting, problem/conflict, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution/solution)
Types of Fiction
We have studied Realistic Fiction.
Realistic Fiction has a main character who has a problem. By the end of the story the main character will have changed in some way and the problem will have been solved. Realistic Fiction has been written from the author's imagination. Everything in the story could happen in real life.
Fantasy is a type of fiction that could never really happen. It includes elements of magic. There can be talking animals, and/or mythological creatures.
This PowerPoint was made by one of our students to show her understanding of Folktales!
