Our school is doing many great things with the use of technology! We are only in the beginning stages at his pint because it was never a priority on our campus until this school year. I am happy to say that most of our teachers are actively seeking ways to improve instruction with the use of technology.
I myself have managed to incorporate the use of technology into almost every aspect of our classroom! It has been an exciting journey and an amazing educational experience. This year I have spent a lot of time setting up the use of tech in my room. Although we have received several new devices, our district does net yet have a state of the art technology infrastructure. What we are able to use and what we are able to do is constantly changing. This has been very challenging for myself and my students. It is hard to get accurate information on whether or not a certain program or device is beneficial to the students when the school's internet or other unrelated problems cause our devices not to work.
I will say that the use of everything Google has been extremely beneficial to my students. They are becoming very fluent in all things Google. This has cut down the need for a lot of time consuming and wasteful practiced. I am amazed at how quickly the students took to it. Several of my students have already surpassed myself in the amount of things that they can do with these programs. Google has also turned a few of my never do homework students into my best homework completing students! My goal for next year is to help guide the teachers toward catching up with our students in the use of these programs.
We hope to try and incorporate many new uses over the summer and into next year!
Today was a great Friday. 14 Years Later and America remembers 9-11! Our AP, Mr. Martinez shared his experience as a New Yorker on 9-11. He told us that 9-11 is not about the towers, it is about HOPE! We agree. Thank you Mr. Martinez.
Today we had a lot of fun meeting different people! It was awesome! Mr Milazzo is an awesome teacher.
We read a book called "Who Flung Ding" , organized our classroom, made up class rules and and learned the names of some new friends. Clive even stared at the printer hoping that it would work, even thought it was already done printing!! HAHA!
Today is July 31, 2015 and there are still 3 weeks until school starts, but teachers are already in the building! After a hopefully restful break, teachers are getting excited about the upcoming year. They are planning, reading books, decorating their rooms, planning, sharing great ideas, planning, setting up their rooms, planning, buying new and exciting elements that will help make their lessons perfect!, planning, fighting for more time, planning, meeting with their teams. and many other phenomenal things to make this year the best that it can be!, Did I mention planning?
